Taras Richmond Farmstay is an eco-friendly establishment

The building has been constructed in an eco-friendly manner including solar passive design, double glazing and insulation throughout. We collect rainwater for drinking, and use untreated river water on the garden and toilets

• All waste water is treated and used to irrigate a firewood plantation

• All hot water and room central heating is run from a wood-fired boiler, creating safe, clean  and cosy room heating

• Around half of the electricity needs are sourced from solar panels installed on the property

• Our orchard and vegetable garden supplies much of the produce (including home-made jams and preserves) used in the establishment in season

• Help make offset some of the carbon emissions from your holiday! We will plant a tree on our property for each booking.
